This compass is specially designed for paragliding. It remains perfectly readable even in turbulent flight (roll, pitch) and provides quick and reliable orientation without distraction.

Orientation
| Model 1: classic compass | The letter N is located on the magnetic North side. Reading is the same as a traditional hiking compass. |
| Model 2: compass (marine type) | The letter N is located opposite the magnetic North. Reading is the same as a marine-type compass (aircraft heading). Recommended for reclined cocoon harnesses with a tilted cockpit at face height. |
Mounting

Classical small Chinese crap that doesn’t work. It gets disturbed by phones or other instruments and is useless in turbulence. The plastic clip for strapping it to the leg broke in my front pocket — far too fragile.
Overall the vario is good, but the compass is a complete waste of money. It looked bigger in the photos, but in reality it’s just the cheap Chinese type you should avoid from any seller. Chouka is certainly aware of that — it even comes with a long disclaimer attached to it.
That is a great compass. The seller was great as well. So if you need it do not hesitate to order.

An excellent product. SO good that I bought an extra one for my van.
Perfectly sized. I used the Velcro mount to place it in my flight deck. The internal compass ball is easy to read and rotates freely over a wide range of angles. I am really pleased that I finally have a really good compass for my flight deck.

This is my second compass from these guys. I have the riser mount version. Firstly – I love it because I like to have small light ‘minimalist’ kit. However….Most modern risers are thinner than the width that the mount could take AND so the ‘extra’ width of the mount simply acts as a line catcher. It isn’t really a problem on take off because I’m checking my lines before launching but messing about with ground handling it has snagged a few times and practicing in strong winds is what broke my first one.
