The CHOUKA NANO ultralight backup knife (only 5 grams) is intended to always be kept close at hand:

Description

Ultralight backup knife for paragliding and mountaineering

  • 5 grams.
  • 67 x 17 x 5 mm folded (2.6 x 0.6 x 0.2 inches).
  • Blade length : 37 mm (1.4 in).

Efficient and secure

  • Extremely sharp scalpel blade:
    • Cuts a climbing rope or a bunch of paragliding lines in 1 or 2 movements.
    • Easily replaceable if worn.
  • Blade locks open and closed.
  • Handleable with paragliding or mountaineering gloves.

Carrying the knife

Easy to carry on a paragliding harness, a rock-climbing harness, a backpack, a keyring, etc. with:

  • The carabiner provided as an option (3g).
  • A keyring (we can then clip it to a climbing carabiner).
  • A piece of string/rope. You are free to make it to the length that suits you.

Restrictions

  • Given its weight and size, this knife cannot saw branches or other hard materials. It’s too flexible for that.
  • Handle with care and do not leave within the reach of children, the blade is very sharp!
  • The optional carabiner provided with it is not designed for climbing, only for hanging accessories.

Usage

Lock/unlock closed

To open, slightly push the blade in the direction indicated by the arrow to make it pass next to the lug.
Dé/verrouillage lame fermée

To close, the blade locks itself behind the lug when you close the knife.

Lock/unlock open

Once fully unfolded, slide the blade in the direction of the arrows to lock or unlock it.

Blade replacement

The blade of the CHOUKA knife can be easily replaced in 2 minutes:

  1. Unscrew and remove the screw (Torx 2.5mm).
  2. Insert the new blade (with its provided adapter) into the handle along with the screw. Do not overtighten the screw to ensure the knife slides correctly.
  3. Check that the knife functions properly (blade locks in open position and blade locks in closed position).
